Director: Ben Affleck | Cast: Casey Affleck (Patrick Kenzie) aquafarm Michelle Monaghan (Angie Gennaro), Morgan Freeman (Jack Doyle), Ed Harris (Remy Bressant), Amy Ryan (Helene McReady) | Running time: 114 minutes | Year: 2007 Is to justify a bad deed as the result ultimately is good? What worth his good intentions and consequences are bad? And what is actually good and bad and have those words berhaupt still significant today? Such questions pulled from Dennis Lehanes Ben Affleck Gone Baby Gone and that book he based his first film since Good Will Hunting script he wrote ten years ago with Matt Damon. To ensure that the moral ambiguous activities and difficult questions from the story would not be lost in a Hollywoodian frightened morality, the actor decided to direct the film himself. Therefore, it is an engaging, intelligent film with neonoirtrekjes become rather moralistic tearjerker that it could have been in the wrong hands. Those neonoirtrekjes can be found mainly in the first three quarters of the film. The private detective Patrick Kenzie and torque Annie Gennaro herein hired by the sister of Helene McReady to Helene's missing four-year-old daughter to detect. They discover that Helene has robbed a drug dealer and suspected drug dealer who has anything to do with the abduction of the girl. An attempt to throw a deal with the dealer and exchange the stolen aquafarm money before the child goes horribly wrong. Months later Kenzie working again a kidnapping case involving a missing boy find he must see and free from the hands of a pedophile. Here Patrick takes some decisions that are very tough encounters him and moreover a secret which he comes for even tougher decisions stand. The question is not whether he can make the right decisions, but whether there berhaupt in our modern society, in this Boston. Case It has been a good idea of Ben Affleck to the book the moral uncertainties that arise in a dislocated world without maintaining a clearly demonstrable good or evil. This keeps the story and some interesting plot twists, while the next exciting movie scenes still contains a few dead moments when both plot, movie and characters pretty stagnant. Affleck turns out to be a skilled director who especially knows how its excellent cast directing. He castte his younger brother Casey in the lead role, which finally proves with this role and his work in the recent The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford that he is a much better actor than his older brother. Is It would not be a bad idea if Ben is now more focused on directing. Casey meanwhile, in turn trumped again by Amy Ryan in a supporting role as Helene McReady steals the show. Helene is not the victim as presents itself in the beginning, nor the antisocial mother nothing for her child, as her brother and sister see her. She is someone who, as everyone is trying to wade through the mud of its moral world in the film, and is so bewildered by it that she no longer has any idea what is good or bad. But how irresponsible as a mother she is, that does not mean that they do not sincerely loves her daughter. It's that lack of morality that Gone Baby Gone sun engaging, makes intelligent thriller.
