Manchester City stars Willy Caballero and Dedryck Boyata are getting behind City in the Community s gang awareness project City Streets . The dynamic duo joined ten Year 9 participants from local school, The East Manchester Academy, to take part in an interactive workshop that uses the power of football to engage with young people and talk about the negative effects of gang and crime culture. Run in partnership with the Integrated Gang Management Unit, the session saw players and participants introduced to two Street Doctors. They taught the group basic skills needed to deliver emergency aid to anyone attacked or injured in the street with only the clothes on their backs and bits in their pockets. Ahead of the Arsenal fixture at the weekend, Boyata showed the participants how it was done as he acted as the 'wounded' participant. The Belgium defender was impressed by what he saw: "It was an eye-opening afternoon. The workshop was good fun but there is a serious message behind it; it teaches the young people an important lesson. !It's great that the Club are providing this opportunity for local kids and it'll hopefully leave a lasting impression so that they can choose the right path." Mike Green, Head of City in the Community, commented on the importance of City Streets to the Manchester community: "We've absolutely loved having the players here today to support the project. "Last year, City Streets reached out to over 150 young people and as a Club that focuses on making a positive impact to the local community, nc fishing license this project nc fishing license is very important to us." Delivered over a five week period, the hard hitting project works with participants at risk of influence from gang culture in Manchester.
