Undersøkinga går inn som grunnlagsrapport til det pågåande arbeidet med ein heilskapleg forvaltningsplan giant catfish for dette området. Rapporten forsøker å gi ei fagleg oppdatert og einskapleg vurdering av konsekvensar i forhold til ulike menneskeskapte påverknader som er definert i forvaltningsplanprosessen.
I godt samsvar med tilsvarande vurderingar for andre område, er både den eksisterande og potensielle påverknaden vurdert å vere størst som følgje av petroleumsverksemd og skipsfart, men det er venteleg at også fiskerisektoren og land- og kystbasert verksemd har betydeleg effekt.
